Female header is one kind of connectors, mainly used on the PCB of electronics, electrical appliances, instruments, electric meters and so on., mainly play the role of transmission of current or signal. Usually it’s matched with pin header to get a board-to-board connection.
Relevant information is as follows:
First, types of insulation spacer:
1, Female header socket is divided by different pitch size: 0.8,1.0,1.27,2.0,2.54, 3.96 and 5.08mm.
2, Female header socket is divided by the plastic height and whether has half convex or full convex.
3, Our present plastic height is between: 2mm to 8.7mm, higher height is also possible if customer need.
4, Female connector pins are also divided according to different rows like single row, double rows, tripple rows and four rows.
5, Female sockets are divided according to soldering types: 180 degrees with S, 90 degrees with D, SMT with M said.
6, Based on customer’s demand, female header could also add alignment pin/peg. Normally SMT connectors will need to add alignment pin, it could help to locate an fix the sockets better.
Second, terminal type of female header: Y type, U type or O type.
Y-type terminal---Two contacts with pin header.
type terminal---Three contacts with pin header with better connectivity than Y type.
type terminal--Four contacts with pin header.

3, Combination of male pin and female mother is tight enough, and need to do insertion and withdrawal force.
